she used logos by giving evidence by talking about animal abuse dog cases. She gave a claim of value about how dog fighting is wrong to relate to the viewers ethics. She gave cause and effect inorder to show the viewers what was exceptable in society and what wasn't. These in my opinion our examples of pathos by telling the viewer what she is prosecuting. The pathos where the pictures of man's best friend .She used what alot of people look up to ,or stay current with celeberties in order for people to relate. She gave examples of dogs fighting and being attacked by people. I thought it was a really good topic and it was a great video!!!. You could really identify the ethos ,logos and pathos.
Animal abuse is a really interesting topic and I think that it was well showed at the beginning of the commercial with the dog’s fighting images and the severe consequences of this kind of acts. Ethos was clear when she talked about statistics of animal’s abuse in TX, and also when the child is playing with the dogs. Logos was the fact that we need to stopped all this crimes against animals, and pathos was obvious with all the images about the cruel treat to animals.
The examples of what dogs should look like when they are owned by humans and the comparison between happy dogs and fighting dogs looked alot like a logos play. The second part was more authoritative, giving examples of what had been done to animals and the cases that had been reported, so that could be considered an example of ethos. Finally, pathos was at the end, showing the pictures of well cared for animals and showing the slogan "Be a Hero", appealing to the viewer's feelings. I was amazed she actually found colored pictures of a dog fight going on, I looked all over the internet for something like that for animal abuse and only found greyscale. It kind of took me off guard and it was a bit surreal to see such violent, real images of dogs killing each other.
I identified the ethos in the research portion of the video. The logos was also in the video, stating that we must teach our kids how to properly care for animals, because if we don’t animals will get hurt. The pathos was in the picture portion. The violent pictures of animals being hurt makes you sad and angry. Why would anyone find enjoyment in seeing animals kill each other. These are not wild animals fighting for survival, they are domesticated animals bred to be a man’s best friend.
You did a great job showing the abuse some animals endure. Your cat is obviously not abused and is well cared for. I could see this in the size of his belly. It is sad that animals are thrown away when the newness is gone. I personally know someone who has had 10-15 dogs in the past 10 years and currently has 0. They have all been given away or taken to a shelter when they get tired of them. People should be responsible if they are going to be a pet owner.
This video is very heavily focused on the emotional (pathos) side. However, she did a good job of bringing in logos and ethos too. The logos was done very well using the video. I felt what came across while watching the child kick the animals is that because that parent was teaching the child to do that, that the child would probably grow up and possibly abuse animals because that child was taught that at a young age. The ethos part was where she talked about the stats in texas regarding animal abuse. This video was very simple but made a great case against animal cruelty which is a big problem across the world. In the US it seems like we are becomming more strict and giving out harsher penalties for those who are abusing animals. The best part about this video was the time that was spent to show the child abusing the animals. In my opinion this is the number one reason why there is animal abuse today. Children see their parents doing it and they end up doing it themselves.
I don't like dog fighting. They are ferociously trying to hurt/kill each other and I strictly detest such games where they make dogs fight with each other.
